Trained as an engineer at École polytechnique, Bernard Arnault took over his family's construction business before turning to luxury in the mid-1980s. By bringing together Louis Vuitton, Dior, Moët Hennessy and dozens of other houses, he built LVMH into the world's largest luxury group, present on every continent with more than 200,000 employees. His model, which pairs creative autonomy for each house with craftsmanship and long-term investment, helped cement Paris as the capital of global luxury. A leading patron of the arts, he founded the Fondation Louis Vuitton and backed the restoration of Notre-Dame.
He embodies long-term industrial leadership, projecting European craftsmanship worldwide while investing in culture and heritage.
