Dario Amodei

A Princeton-trained physicist, Dario Amodei moved into machine learning at Baidu and Google before leading research at OpenAI, where he contributed to the GPT-2 and GPT-3 language models. In 2021 he co-founded Anthropic with his sister Daniela and several colleagues, convinced that safety must guide the development of the most powerful AI systems. The company, maker of the Claude assistant, has introduced methods such as constitutional AI and public risk-evaluation policies that now inform the wider debate. He is among the most influential voices on AI governance.
He has put responsibility at the core of a frontier laboratory's business model, treating safety as a matter of leadership rather than mere compliance, with direct influence on regulators.
