Muhammad Yunus
Inventeur du microcrédit. Nobel de la Paix.
A Vanderbilt-trained economist, Muhammad Yunus reshaped the fight against poverty by lending small sums, without collateral, to some of the poorest people in Bangladesh, most of them women. Grameen Bank, which he founded in 1983, inspired microcredit programs across the globe and earned him and the bank the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006. A champion of the social business model, he took charge of Bangladesh's interim government in 2024, with a mandate to steer the country back toward elections.
Few leaders can claim an idea replicated on five continents; his move from social innovation to public responsibility makes him a defining figure of societal commitment.
