Mo Abudu
Reine des médias africains. Time 100.
Founder and chief executive of EbonyLife Media, Mo Abudu built one of Africa's most influential entertainment companies from Lagos. A former human resources executive, she first became known for her talk show Moments with Mo, then launched EbonyLife TV and a film studio behind several of Nigeria's biggest box-office hits, including The Wedding Party. Partnerships with Netflix, Sony Pictures Television and the BBC have carried African stories, told by Africans, onto screens around the world, and she has also opened EbonyLife Place, an entertainment and lifestyle venue in Lagos.
She proves that an African creative industry can produce, finance and export its own stories, opening doors for thousands of local talents along the way.
